T3 – Classic Blondies

Posted by: Terra In: Dessert|Treats To Try!

My mom gave lent me The Ultimate Brownie Book. I’ve been eying it for weeks and finally decided to try out the Classic Blondie recipe (why not brownies? Because we had all the ingredients for the Blondies on hand, lol)

3 cups all-purpose flour
2t. baking powder
1/2t. salt
3/4lb. (3 sticks) butter
1 2/3 cups sugar
1 cup packed light brown sugar
4 large eggs
2T. vanilla extract
6oz. semisweet chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350 – butter and flour a 9×13 baking pan (I just used Pam and it came out fine) :)

In a medium bowl, whisk flour, baking powder and salt until well combined. Set aside.

In a large bowl, cream butter,  sugar and brown sugar with electric mixer at medium speed until pale brown and thick (about 7 minutes). Add the eggs one at a time. After last egg, beat in vanilla.

Stir in chocolate chips, then flour mixture, just until incorporated. Do not beat the batter. Pour into corners.

Bake for 45 minutes.

Set on wire rack to cool for 30 minutes.

What treat are you trying this week?

I have a blondie recipe that we really like and it has the sauce too! Yummy but I would rather eat Applebee’s so I don’t have to see all the bad stuffin it! HAHA

Love it! I just made this last night for our Sunday School get together and it was a big hit. Thanks for sharing…blondies have been a favorite of mine since I was a little girl. Justin had never heard of them, but he loved it too!

  • Terra: I don't think I did, but I usually just use a mixture of powdered sugar and milk (about 3/4C powdered sugar and 1-2T milk). And, I don't even remembe
  • Emily Lourcey: Did you post the recipe for the royal icing you used with these?
